The church ministries in Gladstone at Gladstone Uniting Church reflect our commitment to faith, fellowship, and community life. Through a range of ministries for adults, families, and the wider community, we seek to build meaningful connections, nurture faith, and offer care and service in everyday life. Some ministries meet regularly, while others are offered at different times throughout the year, creating space for people to belong, participate, and grow together as part of our Christian community.
Sunday School
Sunday School is a place where children can learn about faith in age-appropriate, engaging, and joyful ways. Through stories, conversation, creative activities, and play, children are invited to wonder, ask questions, and grow in their understanding of God’s love.
We are currently preparing to begin Sunday School and hope to start on the first Sunday in February. As we get closer, we will share more details on how sessions will run and how families can be involved.
We look forward to creating a safe, welcoming space where children are known, valued, and encouraged as part of our wider church Fellowship.
Men’s Fellowship
Men’s Fellowship is a developing space for connection, conversation, and shared life. It is a chance for men to gather in a relaxed setting, build friendships, and support one another in faith and in everyday life.
This group is still in a trial period, and we are learning together what shape it will take. What matters most is showing up, listening well, and enjoying good company.
If you are curious, new, or simply looking for a place to belong, you are welcome to join us and be part of what is growing.
Adult Fellowship
Adult Fellowship meets on the first Thursday of each month at 9.00 am.
We are a small and friendly group of women and men who value conversation, laughter, and time together. Our gatherings usually alternate between activities at the church, such as craft or board games, and social outings in the community on alternate months.
Over the years, this group has evolved. The days of heavy catering and fundraising are behind us, but the Fellowship remains strong. The hands may be a little slower, but the minds and the stories are still sharp.
New faces are always welcome. Come along and enjoy good company and shared time together.
Worship Beyond Our Walls
We regularly share worship with residents in two local nursing homes, bringing familiar hymns, prayer, and the presence of church into places where people live each day.
Services are held:
- First Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm at New Auckland Place nursing home
- Third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am at Edenvale
These services are simple, gentle, and shaped around participation. They are about presence rather than performance, listening as much as speaking, and honouring the faith journeys of residents.
Volunteers are always appreciated, whether helping lead worship, offering conversation, or simply being there.
Community Pastoral Care
Some of our volunteers offer pastoral care alongside the Salvation Army at the Salvation Army’s food store.
This ministry is about meeting people where they are. It involves listening without judgment, offering kindness and prayer when appropriate, and being a calm, respectful presence for people who may be going through a tough time.
It is a quiet but deeply meaningful form of service, grounded in compassion and partnership with the wider community.
If you feel drawn to this kind of behind-the-scenes care, we would love to talk with you about being involved.
