Little Explorers Playgroup is a ministry of the Gladstone Uniting Church. We cater for all families with new born to school age children. We have a fantastic program for the children which provides the stimulation and exploration that kids need in a safe and controlled environment. Children are provided with surroundings in which they can play and learn to socialise in larger groups at a young age, but still have the safety and assurance of their parents being with them. We offer many things each session such as craft activities, painting, play dough, group morning tea, wet and messy play (in summer), story time, group singing and free play both indoor and out.
Parents also flourish in this environment as they are able to make friendships with other parents who have children of similar ages and it also allows them to grow their own support network. As Gladstone has such a shifting population we have found that many families move to the area and are then left with no extended family for support. Little Explorers Playgroup can provide a non-threatening place for families to make these networks and to become a part of a community. The Playgroup Ministry also supports these families with providing links and access to the other ministries and activities of our wider Church Community.
Costs involved are a per term fee of $30.00 per family. Playgroup runs on MONDAYS (9am to 11am) in line with the State School terms and holidays.
